Yeah, you heard me. Related to an old fanfic of mine (like from 2002 or something??). Dream-like dance thing between the two of them, probably from the girl's precognitive dreams.
It's fun to go back and try to draw these characters again after all this time.
TL;DR EXPLANATION FOR ANYONE WHO GIVES A CRAP/OLD FANFIC IS OLD AND NEEDS AN OVERHAUL, SO I'M NOT LINKING - SRRY.
Characters are called Merllun and Gabby. Merllun's a Knight of Neraka with an agenda posing as a student with amnesia (and failing since his fear of the "magical" TV pretty much tipped anyone with a brain off). Gabby is a basketball-loving high schooler with an annoying precognitive ability (which might just be connected to her being the reincarnation of the power core of Tahkisis).
Hijinks ensue.
And prom.
LOL.
Just kidding. No, actually, Merllun's an idealistic young brat of a not-quite-there knight who's totally in love with the romantic idea of honor and all that, which works out just dandy for the insane leader of his particular brigade of lost knights of Neraka, since she wants to bring Tahkisis back from the dead and needs someone (stupid) to be her go-fer.
Unfortunately for her, someone upstairs is smart enough to hide away everything she needs to summon Tahkisis back, a world away and in a living person. Said living person is poor Gabby, a newtype high schooler living in the post-Eve Wars Gundam Wing world, who has dreams of potential futures and dangers.
...DID I MENTION CROSSOVERS? DID I? MUST HAVE FORGOT. MOVING ON.
Merllun's job is to lie, cheat, fawn, flatter, hit on, and sweet talk Gabby into coming to Krynn of her own free will... all without mentioning his boss is going to kill her to resurrect their patron goddess. You can guess what Honor Boy's primary emotional dilemma becomes (although, he is pretty terrified of the technologically alien world he's been dropped into, too).
Gawd, I have to re-write that so bad. It's current state is not nearly as freaking cool as it could be. Of course, I wrote it seven years ago, so...
Merllun ended up looking a lot prettier than I remember. I think his hair was originally a lot shorter, though. And I hate plate and chainmail armor combos. It makes torsos look so looooooong, even though the underlying wireframe is in correct proportion. Ugh.
XD EVIL OVERLORD'S TRAP WOULD WORK ON YOU, THEN. No. It needs to be reworked, seriously.
Thanks. I actually had no idea what I was going to color her dress at first. And then I hit upon combining three of the five colors of Tahkisis's dragons to make it look like one of those prom dresses that starts one color at the top and ends in another at the bottom. The dance-ness? I was actually listening to "Tahkisis Dance" when I drew it, which is very formal dance-feeling.
Angles and hand position are something I usually end up playing with. The sketch version actually has the arms in the foreground at a slightly lower, more awkward position.
HE HAS ARMOUR!
*can I read the story? lol)
on the serious note..
I like herdress and how you've captured the movement of their dance ^^

did you have reference of people dancing?
It's kind of useless if you can't see her legs or the skeleton that shows where his waist is.
