A shinigami reunited with his zanpakuto spirit after a long separation.

When Yoshikazu was abandoned in this mad world by that hated man, he was left a broken child, an unwitting puppet who's strings had been cut. Being sealed into a gigai had then further distanced him from everything that he was, putting the dim words of his not-yet fully-formed zanpakuto out of reach behind the alien beating of a human heart. The loss was unbearably, indescribably huge.
He vowed he'd never be a puppet again.
One day, he was mortally wounded. It was the first time he saw the chain of fate binding him to his artificial prison. He snapped it, even though his living teammate screamed at him (though she shouldn't have seen, she couldn't have), and quickly searched for that long-missed part of himself.
He grabbed the red thread eagerly and pulled, elated at the sight of the shihakusho settling on his body. He hadn't the words for how much he'd missed this.
He felt a sudden chill as the voice of his sword, silent now for years, came back to him and, oh, how it had changed.

Hay. S'up.
Yoshikazu, my cracktastic Bleach-ninja, decided to tell me what his sword was. His zanpakuto's spirit decided to show itself in the creepy I R DOOM DOLL way.
I might call it "Jiyuujin." It's abilities revolve around breaking control and shattering illusions. Unfortunately, in theory, it could drive people to madness through it's ability to destroy control.
NEW PEOPLE:
Yoshikazu is one of the crack fancharacters I made up to round out teams for one generation in a Naruto doujinshi and basically fill in gaps. He ended up looking like Aizen and since I already crackishly decided that another character in that generation had all but outright said they were from Bleach, I extended the joke to Yoshikazu as well.
So basically, you get a running gag hidden crossover. Although, if I were to seriously focus on it, it'd actually probably be very good.

Breaking illusions eh? How nice, now his dear old dad will have to effortlessly kick his son's ass by virtue of his vastly superior strength, cunning, and experience, instead of his Zanpakto...
Though on the plus side, he should have an advantage over Genjutsu users... And driving people insane could be useful... if it's the 'curl up in a corner whimpering kind' instead of the 'become hyper-aggressive, unreasonable, and homicidal kind'
Also, Jiyuujin seems like he'd be a blast to talk to... This is one of the few cases where having an Inner Hollow replace the Sword Spirit would be an improvement... Though at least he's prepared if Muramasa ever shows up.
